What does the bottom of the sea look like in the minds of children? Through the paintbrush in their hands, we may be able to feel it. This morning, the 2019 Shanghai Pudong New Area “National Science Day” series of activities – the 2nd “Rainbow Fish – Abyss Geek” Cup International Youth Painting Competition Award Ceremony and Art Exhibition Launching Ceremony was held at the Shanghai Children’s Museum. More than 40 award-winning works on display present the audience with an imaginative world of the deep sea.
Conversational mermaids, anthropomorphic submarines, and even opulent underwater palaces – the quiet, dark depths of the sea are given a variety of colors and imagery under the children’s brush. Through these paintings with artistic tension, the audience can feel the imagination of the participating children.
Children from seven countries participated in the competition, and the judges selected the best 40 entries from more than 200 entries for awards. At the award ceremony, the winners from Qingdao, Liuzhou, Shanghai and other places came to the scene in person. Parents at the scene also said that their children further increased their understanding of the ocean and raised their awareness of protecting the ocean by depicting the underwater world.
The competition was sponsored by the Shanghai Pudong New Area Science and Technology Association and Shanghai Ocean University, and the exhibition was first exhibited at the Shanghai Children’s Museum during the National Day.
